Filipinos have been using the term “Pinoy Pride” over the past few years. When one views it in a way, it means bringing pride to the Filipino nation because someone has represented it internationally. It can also mean having the Philippines get noticed internationally. With the recent usage of the term, it is no doubt one of the most pathetic lines a Filipino can mention in public – may it be on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. Let’s have some examples, shall we? Continue reading
After 9 seasons, the world’s cruelest man has left American Idol. Simon Cowell, the veteran judge is merely the second original judge to leave the series (the first of which, is Paula Abdul). They say American Idol is Simon Cowell’s show. People skip other judges’ comments on TiVo and fast-forward it to Simon’s.
Idol Gives Back is back! Yay! That must mean, yes, our idols must sing an inspirational sing and ,as expected, fail on their attempts. Usually, top 7 is the week where the worst contestant gets eliminated (e.g. Sanjaya Malakar, Kristy Lee Cook) and let’s see if that’s what happened to Tim Urban.
This week, the Top 9 of American Idol sang songs from John Lennon and Paul McCartney! We have a video of Paul giving the contestants some boost-up’s. Miraculously, this week was one of those weeks which we could all totally love. There were only a couple of mediocre performances (i.e. Aaron Kelly and Andrew Garcia)and the rest were all good. We see an ‘in-loving-memory-of-didi-benami’ and that’s all we see from her. Hey Look! It’s Lacey Brown on the audience beside the BONES cast. It’s so nice to see her again. Lots of surprises this week – especially with the instruments and of course, Tim Urban! Did Ryan Seacrest just tell ever Idol watcher that Andrew Garcia has acquired over 132 million votes throughout the competition? Argh. That’s so not fair. Continue reading
I just gotta say.. This season has been dreadfully boring, and I think the guys deserve to go home immediately rather than the girls. With Usher on the mentor thing that week, I was hoping for some good performances. Apparently, I only got satisfactory ones. Well, their talent would grow… Hopefully. Usher? I’m still impartial about him especially after taking that Bieber kid. Ugh. Now for the contestants..
AI Season 9’s Top 11 took on Billboard No. 1 Hits. Looks like this week was the first week that the contestants had a mentor. Usually, mentors are like super amazing since they have the experience and shiz, but this one’s different. It’s – SURPRISE! – Miley Cyrus. The Disney zit who can’t sing a damn note. She pretty much gives every contestant the usual advice a generic teacher can give. A terrible mentor can result to the most terrible episode yet! To think that this week is an important week if they wanna join the Summer Tour! Clearly, all of them gave mediocre performances. Well? What do you expect? Miley Cyrus mentored them. Clearly, she made all these contestants like her – a trainwreck. Miley Cyrus made this episode of Idol the most VFTW! Worthy. Thus, VFTW bows down to Queen Miley.
The Top 12 finalists of the hit reality show American Idol (Season 9) took on one of the greatest bands of all time – The Rolling Stones!
The remaining contestants should give justice to the unworthy eliminated ones (i.e. Katelyn Epperly, Alex Lambert and Lilly Scott.) Kudos to Crystal Bowersox for giving a tribute to our fallen angel who could have had awesome studio recordings, Lilly Scott. To sum it all up, the episode was boring if not for two performers – Siobhan Magnus and Crystal Bowersox. The else were pretty much STONED
