Timothy Bradley has won the fight against Manny Pacquiao over a split decision from the judges at the MGM Grand Las Vegas last June 9, 2012. The fight caused a lot of controversy mainly because of the stats released which contradicted the results. As such, a lot of theories were made based on the results.
Pacquiao having won 11 out of 12 rounds, was expected to be the victor of this bout. Pacquiao had a higher number of punches which landed than Bradley. With the statistics to prove it, it was no doubt that Pacquiao should have won. How the judges chose Bradley is still beyond fans’ comprehension and understanding. For now, we can only have theories and speculations that somehow lean more to the truth.
Somehow, we can only speculate that this might be Vegas’ way of earning a lot of money mainly because of a lot of reasons. One reason would be that they would earn a lot of money from people who bet Bradley winning as opposed to Pacquiao winning. Second reason for this is that there will definitely be a rematch to settle the fight (as said on the contract), and a lot of people would be watching the rematch to see Pacquiao’s vengeance. Another event that will grab lots of money. Another reason would be that the judges may be paid for this. This may be a tactic into getting Floyd Mayweather Jr. to box with Manny after all his refusals (which may be because he was intimidated by Manny’s continuous victories) . We might be having another great bout sooner or later from these two boxers who claim to be greatest of the world.
Let’s not shrug off the religious theories. For the sake of laughing, let’s present the most ridiculous theories presented
1. Pacman converted himself into another religion. He didn’t bring any rosary.
2. Jessica Sanchez singing the National Anthem of the US.
3. Pacquiao didn’t drink his endorsed product, Sting.
4. One theory circulating online is the mafia. Death for Manny’s children if he wins. Bob Arum had him lose.
With all that’s said and done, I guess it’s safe to say that this is a match everyone would be talking about. How robbed Pacquiao was or how rigged the match was. Even celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Justin Timberlake tweeted their dismay. At the end of the day, Pacquiao still gets his money. He’s still rich. People are just going to have to wait for the rematch which is on November 10, 2012.
