Each and every person in the world anticipates the New Year. They’re all up on New Year’s eve waiting for the clock to strike 12 and when it does, you’ll gets colorful fireworks up in the sky, bells ringing, and frypans smashing. There are certainly a number of reasons why people anticipate badly the New Year. However, there’s one common denominator for all – regardless of your race, religion and conditions. It signifies a new beginning.
Well, what are New Year’s Resolutions for? It’s not like there’s something great about another year. Sure we have our ups and downs the previous year. Mostly, people focus on the downside to everything that happened and hoping that the same mistakes won’t be committed again in the following year. This 2011 will be a year wherein each and every one of us hopes for our dreams to come true, our aspirations into reality, our wishes granted. In short, for a better life.
Speaking of New Year’s Resolutions, some of them do go into action, some of them don’t. Maybe because people change at the precipice of things, or maybe because those pet peeves are just so difficult to eliminate. Whichever is which, just hope that it actually turns out for the better.
A refreshed course of life. That’s what a new year is. Leave all those troubles last year and forget about it. Notice how everyone celebrates the new year. With booming fireworks and banging fry-pans, people try to get rid of the bad vibes and want to start anew for another year. While leaving the previous year behind, it’s hard not to forget all those treasured memories with beloved people and hoping that these people would soon again be part of our lives the following year. Apologizing for lost causes, and thanking for profound moments. That has been the practice of everyone.
As each person embarks his journey and takes his first step in the first days of 2011, hope is present. As sunshine and optimism help bring out the inner soul of the being – that everything is going to go well, the person is given the chance to redeem himself. 93% of Filipinos are expecting a great 2011. That just shows how optimistic people can be when it comes to a new year. Most Especially if the previous year was a tragic one.
A new year is the time for renewals, formal closures and the start of something new. Many may have already planned their calendar of activities. But believe me, it will still change. However, we can only expect the unexpected on what the sudden turn of events may hold us on to.
2011. A year full of promises and great expectations. No disappointments and mishaps. What people don’t realize is that we must be the change we wish to see. Well, we still are the ones holding our destiny. We control our fate. We don’t rely on New Year superstitions and beliefs. It’s up to us on how we are going to work ourselves this 2011 in such a way that we don’t end up with the same mistakes that we committed last 2010.
For a new beginning and life, Happy New Year! 🙂
Have a Great New Year Celebration and may 2011 be a good year to us all. 🙂
